HR-Process-Check – Structure your Process Management Project

The HR-Process-Check helps you to carry out the project in an optimal way and to avoid a waste of resources. After the picture you will find practical examples using this procedure.

HR-Prozess-Check

The different phases („checks“) help to concentrate on the real problem. Step by step you will get closer to your goal:

Check 1: First you name the parts of your personnel department that are affected by the project. If necessary you also have to include roles outside the personnel department.

Check 2: Now you can identify the relevant service for the prevailing parts using your company specific service catalogue. We offer to support you in adapting the reference model to your company’s specifics in a workshop.

Check 3: For the selected services you determine key performance indicators. If you identify for instance the frequency and importance per service, you can easily decide which service you should have a closer look at.

Check 4: Finally you only design and analyze the processes for the services you have declared to be important for the current project.

Example Process check – Outsourcing doing payroll

Check 1: What’s needed for payroll?

Check 2: identifying the services which have to be mentioned in the contract (also using the company’s specific service catalogue), validating the selection with the help of employees

Check 3: noting the value per service for a price model, marking the services, that represent interfaces between your company and the outsourcer

Check 4: designing critical service (especially interfaces), describing channels and means of communication between you and the outsourcer

Check result: Add the outsourced part of your service catalogue and the interface processes to the outsourcing contract. It helps you to avoid forgetting minor tasks and redefining the contract later (with additional costs). You rather reach the savings you have expected within the outsourcing project.

Example Process check – Optimizing SAP-based HR processes

Check 1: identifying the services to be supported by SAP® ERP HCM using the process architecture

Check 2: identifying the services with a potential for optimization using the reference model as a guideline in workshops with users and internal customers

Check 3: e.g. noting frequency and importance per service for the company

Check 4: further analysis and optimization only with the critical processes (use the ranking of step 3) where your work can get a good ROI

Check result: You optimize the relevant processes in an efficient and well-mapped out way.
