Day 2 (6.11.08) 11:30 – 12:45 A process-oriented approach to aligning your SAP ERP HCM investment with your business strategy and stakeholders Traditionally, HR professionals have used cost or headcount reduction as a rationale for requesting additional IT support and new technology. This session provides an alternative to reactive cost reduction arguments by introducing a model that relates strategic business objectives to HR technology initiatives to ensure money is spent on the areas that will benefit the business the most. Learn how to create an inventory of HR tasks and responsibilities, and how to establish a line of sight between tasks and current business objectives and stakeholder expectations. Examine a tool that allows you to rank your stakeholders in order of importance to HR objectives and to map your HR inventory against the ranked stakeholder expectations and needs. Improve the effectiveness of your HR expenditures by evaluating the results of your HR inventory assessment to determine which stakeholders you're overserving and when to reprioritize HR spending and resources. Walk through several scenarios to see how this methodology can be applied to support and justify new SAP ERP HCM initiatives that are based more closely on business objectives and value to stakeholders. Day 3 (7.11.08) 14:00 – 15:15 How and when to use BAdIs to customize BSP-based SAP ERP HCM Performance Management templates Take an in-depth look at how and when you can use Business Add-Ins (BAdIs) to customize the look and operation of BSP-based SAP Performance Management templates. Explore the more than 50 BAdIs delivered with SAP that you can use to incorporate functionality including value determination (calculated fields), custom message generation, dropdown lists, header data, workflow control, and custom authorizations to your appraisal and objective setting templates. Review a demo that shows step-by-step details of how and when to implement a BAdI and integrate it in a custom form, including adding a BAdI implementation, creating an enhancement, and assigning the enhancement to the form template. Take home coding examples for performance management BAdIs and a detailed list of all of the available BAdIs with an updated description of what each provides. |
